Why is my local IP address displayed instead of proxy IP?

Sometimes, even if you have configured a proxy in your profile, after opening the profile, you will see your local IP address on the proxy detection page.

This problem is usually caused by a VPN or proxy extension in the profile, leading to a traffic conflict. Here are two steps for troubleshooting this problem.

Step 1: Remove extensions that may affect the network

Check all the extensions installed in the profiles and remove those that may affect the network (like a VPN or proxy-related extension).

If the extension was uploaded in AdsPower's extensions, remove the extension from [Extensions].

If the extension is installed directly in the profile, remove it from chrome://extensions/

Step 2: Delete "preference" files

Even if you removed the extension, there is still some cache data remaining that will cause the problem. Therefore, this step is to ensure the cache data related to the extensions is cleared.

In the upper left corner of AdsPower, click File - Cache, open the cache file, find the account ID of the corresponding profile on the profiles page and open the corresponding cache folder, open the Default file directory, delete the Preferences and Secure Preferences files, and then reopen the profile.

For windows

For Mac

If none of the steps above are helpful, please contact our online support at the lower right corner of your AdsPower and inform them that you have completed all the troubleshooting steps above. They will provide you with further assistance.
